Different from peppermint, of which it is a cousin, spearmint essential oil is also called sweet mint or Nanah mint. Used to make the famous mint tea, Nanah mint has a characteristic chlorophyll taste. Unlike peppermint or field mint, spearmint essential oil contains no or very little menthol.
